Our History |
The Hissong Group has been serving Southern Maine since the 1980’s when George E. “Ted” Hissong and his son, Kurt, partnered to build one of the first developments of affordable homes in Kennebunk.
Since then, the family owned and operated team has continued building single family and multi-unit rental homes, including the Rose Terrace and Goff Mill Brook neighborhoods in Arundel, as well as several custom-built homes in the Kennebunk area. Mousam River Season Campground in West Kennebunk and Merriland River Campground in Wells are also Hissong Group projects. New developments in various stages of construction include Bartlett Farms, a planned neighborhood in Arundel which will consist of 42 custom-built homes, River’s Edge, an affordable subdivision of 26 single family homes and 10 duplex townhouses in Wells, and Terrace Green in West Kennebunk. Intertwined with every development project has been the need for concrete and related aggregate materials. The Hissong Group expanded in the mid 2000’s to include Hissong Ready-Mix & Aggregates, a full service, state-of-the-art ready-mix concrete and aggregate provider with locations in Eliot and Westbrook, Maine. To meet the needs of both residential and commercial customers, additional retail locations in southern Maine include R.H. Brown in Kennebunkport, Stonefield Aggregates in Lyman, as well as several others. A fleet of tri-axle and trailer dump trucks are also available to provide material hauling or delivery in the southern Maine and seacoast New Hampshire area. |
